What is MCD Factory Licence?

MCD Factory Licence is a municipal licence required for eligible factories, workshops and industrial units operating within the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

MCD provides an online system for New Factory Licence, Renewal, Amendment and Surrender.

MCD Factory Licence Fees

The government fee is not the same for every factory. It depends mainly on the factory category, machinery HP and applicable fee structure.

For the up to 5 HP category, additional processing, unit and HP-based charges may apply depending on the licence period.

For Conforming Industrial Area, DDA/DSIDC/DI sheds and Industries Outside Industrial Area, MCD states that the Factory Licence fee is linked with Property Tax and is calculated as 5% of the Property Tax amount paid.

Convenience Fee: Applicable as per MCD’s current online fee calculation.

Processing Time

MCD Listed Timeline: Instant

MCD’s Citizen Charter currently lists the service delivery timeline for Factory Licence as Instant, subject to the application meeting the applicable requirements and scrutiny.

Validity

The Factory Licence is generally issued for the applicable financial year, subject to the category and conditions of the licence.

Renewal is required as applicable.
